Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?

I was wondering has anyone on here got an aftermarket muffler and kept the stock tubing. The reason why is I just want it a tad louder than stock. Anybody done this?

Re: Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?

i'm thinking of adding a magnaflow to my truck. called a local shop that does custom exhaust, he said you don't need to change the pipe, that the stock is big enough. he told me $125.00 installed

Re: Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?

you can definitely do that. I did it and got a flowmaster 40 but if you want a quieter tone you could leave the stock piping but ask for a flowmaster 70 series for SUVs. It still rumbles but is quieter driving around town. It sounds pretty nice on my buddies dodge ram w/ the 5.7 and should cost you about $130.00 or less including welded installation.

Re: Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?

Plenty of sound clips, just do a search on this number 52571. Thats the part number for the flowmaster 70 series muffler. I disagree with vegas, the mufler alone costs $110, and installation runs about $70, including new hanger.
Here's a link on the best price you will find: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/pe...er_search.y=14

Yes, I did the muffler swap and love it. Also, there is no suv model for the 70 series, just the one and only in the link I provided. SUV models are for the 50 series.

Re: Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?

The 70 series is about 50-60% louder than stock imo.

Re: Aftermarket Muffler Stock Tubing?
