Unless you are adept at engine building, you're going to have to find someone who is competent to install one and so that cost factors into my calculation to purchase one.
I'd want to see the cost be within the $5k or less range.
Stillen seems to have done their homework and made a good product. I can't afford it although I've heard good things about them.
Maybe some competition will help drive down prices-I hope.
Good luck and we look forward to seeing the results!

Really? Could you back that up with some facts for me? I thought a turbo or 2 would be the way to go on this one. Seems with the properly sized turbo to balance turbo lag and WOT performance, coupled with good engine monitoring would, in this case, make turbo a good choice. As far as breaking goes I don't think either has a bigger advantage. This kit may have to develope a "new" supercharger to do the job, while there is likely to be a turbo out there that could be adapted to a manifold to do the job. I would perfer either turbo or supercharger. If the supercharger come out at the right price count me in.

Not trying to get in a duck measuring contest but Turbos are by nature more complicated and more expensive. More complex and more parts = more stuff that COULD break and more stuff to install.
Also requires more advanced management etc.
Advantage of Turbo is it's non-parasitic, can give crazy boost levels, and turbo lag aint a big deal considering the torque of the titan and the fact that you'll have trouble getting the power to the ground off the line with just about any extra power over stock and no weight over the rear.

Turbos have come a long way over the last 10 or so years. They used to be unreliable a long time ago, but the newer ones are excellent.

Well I have to defend stillen a bit here, when you introduce a new product foir a specific vehicle that is custom fit it takes alot of r&d (which we all know it took them alot ) So when a company first introduces a product the cost is expensive because they trying to recoup the cost of there r&D. Then after they sell a couple superchargers to a couple of power hungry fools They [b]should[b] lower prices. The only thing is i have bought alot of stuff from stillen over the years for my old 300zx and my new titan and they dont seem to ever really cut prices they always go up,so in fact you are paying a premium for r&d costs that is old, which is bad for buissness. I love stillen products but some of there stuff is too high. Anyway the cost for the greddy kit could be realatively low on the R&D sides, they already have the supercharger (rotax for 350z kit) they already have the emanage (upgrade a lil), whats left? a new pulley to designated boost specs, new belt and bracket? Whats not to say, BUILD IT!!!

I see a lot of folks caught up on the price thing. I am more interested with performance across the powerband, and large increases than price. Guys we cant be picky when someone decides to stick their foot in the door and help us out. As we all know the options for aftermarket with our vehicles is limited.
