Re: ECO #3 Installed

I remember reading an artlicle linked here that disproved a very similar product. Smells of snake oil to me, but could be wrong. The mileage differences in these things is often so small it can be chalked up to environmental and driving differences. Do you plan to test it, if so, how? Dyno?

Re: ECO #3 Installed

Maybe two of them in series would work even better?

Re: ECO #3 Installed

I installed one last week, still going through my first tank of gas but result so far seems good. I will post result in a day or two when I fill up again. I can say this at 1/4 of a tank left I have the same miles reading as when I usually fill up (about 270 miles).

Re: ECO #3 Installed

Finished the first tank with the ECO3, 13.4 mpg avg. up from 12.5 mpg avg before the ECO3. No ECU reset in between as I want to compare with no other factors involved.
My SES light did come on this morning when the guage read "E", found out I never close my gas cap when I did the install, I took the gas cap off to relieved pressure from the gas tank and just forgot to close it.
Would I have gotten better milage if the cap was close?

Re: ECO #3 Installed

the city of San Antonio installed them on 75% of their fleet of fire fighting vehicles. They act like it's legit and saving them money.

Costs $175 - $300 though, and might take a few (thousand) gallons to recouperate that money.

Re: ECO #3 Installed

I get 14.0 city driving only, without any gadgets.... It will have to do a lot better to be viable. I drive four miles each way to work, the Titan barely has time to warm up!

Re: ECO #3 Installed

I wonder if we Californicators could use this device in conjunction with long-tube headers and a high-flow cat
(or other currently unusable mods) and still pass emissions testing, because of its emissions-reduction benefits?

Re: ECO #3 Installed

Others (Titan owners) have used this, and they're loving the results.

For the price, it will take about a year to re-coup the cost, but hey, that's not bad either. Truck's burning cleaner fuel, which means less carbon, better for the environment, and it's putting money back in the pocket by saving gas.

Re: ECO #3 Installed

I figured that it would take around 9 months for it to pay for itself with my driving. Several people on Cl*b Titan installed it. I am waiting for them to post their results before I buy.
