Exhaust noise

I've got the Banks exhaust on my truck and this is the first truck that I've owned. I just want to know if my truck is normal for anybody with an aftermarket exhaust. When the truck is warmed up and I'm driving past 30 mph and I let off the gas the exhaust makes this noise and I just want to know if it is normal or should I take it to the dealer. I have a video so that you guys could see if its normal and I love the sound of the Banks and to me there is no drone. It just annoying sometimes when I'm driving and it makes the noise plus it kinda jerks back like its engine braking or something. Here is the link http://media.putfile.com/titan57. Sorry for the long post.

Re: Exhaust noise

Kinda hard to tell from the video but check to make sure you have no leaks, all clamp tighten?

Re: Exhaust noise

Well the noise that you hear in the video is the noise that I'm talking about. My foot is not on the gas. It does it everytime that I'm over 30 mph and I let my foot of the gas. When its gets under 30 it doesn't do it anymore.

Hard to put a finger on it in ur video....I had a Banks and it did the same ...when you let off the gas you should hear a slight poping when letting the motor slow you down

Re: Exhaust noise

did you get out all of those styrofoam popcorn out of the tubes and muffler before installing? Sounds weird - sort of labored - I have banks and if you let off the gas the engine goes to idle and you can barely hear the exhaust and it coasts.

Re: Exhaust noise

Sounds 100% normal to me. Mine always rumbled down when I let off the throttle.

I pulled my Banks muffler Sunday and installed a 3" FlowMaster 70. Just got tired of the noise.

Re: Exhaust noise

I have a Banks and had to retighten up the system once it heated up a few times.

No problems since.

btw: Take off the Banks megaphone and it sounds quieter than stock!

Would an ECU reset help with this noise?

Me 3. Only when I'm gunning it up to around 70 and lay off the throttle do I hear a little bit of what your describing.

I couldnt get used to that megaphone diesel tip. I went and had Midas weld a 3" inlet 3.5" outlet Magnaflow SS rolled edge tip. Looks much mo' betta' to me.

I'd just give it more time to break in, so to say (dont really know how long you've had it on). Wouldn't hurt to take it out on a long road trip to break it in quicker. Then let it cool down and make sure everything is still tight.

Its hard to tell from your video... almost sounds like you have a leak. Did you use the Banks gaskets or use the OEM ones?

Re: Exhaust noise

Well I've had the exhaust for about a year and a half. Well the other day I finally had the chance to get underneath the truck and I did find a leak but I can't seem to fix it. Its at the end of the muffler. It seems the clamp was tighten too much and its bended the slit inward so it's leaking. I tried to move the clamp to the outward part but it doesn't seem to do much because it's still leaking.
