Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

This ? is for anyone that has one. Are the instructions for the install right on? Do you have to remove the tire? Any tips or helpful insights to pass along to make install faster or easier? thanks

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

When I got mine last week.. I looked at the manual noticed you do have to remove the tire to bolt the heatshield under the fender near the harness clips.. I decided to skip that part and just tighen the top heat shield bots really good, seems to be all snug even without the bottom 5 bolts to the fender..

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

Do you guys also suggest the ECU reset after the install? I also got the Stillen Dual exhaust installed. Will the reset help with both apps? Again thanks for the info

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

You don't have to remove the tire, you can still install the four little bolt that hold the heat shield to the truck's fender by just taking off the liner. Better yet just use double sided tape to attach that part of the heat shield to the truck or like whitewid0w stated, that four little bolt can be skip altogether IMO. You don't need to removed the washer fluid resivoir either, that is to get to the 3rd bolt holding the factory airbox on. Just remove the two bolt you see and yank on the airbox, it will come out.

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

Yea, thats exactly what I did was just yank it off. AEM has to make the instructions as long as can be... Just so many unnecessary things.

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

I pulled the tire and the fender, it didn't take long. Maybe a additional 15 minutes and it is done right.

I also skipped the step about taking off the wheel for the other bolts. I just used the 2 upper ones and it works fine. It is snug in there.

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

It not hard. Do it right or else you may get some rattling.

Take your time. Do it in the garage or a shady spot.

Took me about an hour.

It easier to work with the tire out of the way.

Yes always reset the ECU after any mods.

To be on the safe side bolt it to the fender, however mine is just snug as can be with the top two and I saved alot of time..

Re: Installing Brute Force CAI tomorrow

there should be enough room on the titan to remove the liner without pulling the wheel, i would try that.
