Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

Not a chance. You'll be lucky that your truck will start after putting that thing in. You dont get 20 HP for $5.99. If it sounds to good to be true, then buy it and find out you wasted your money.

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

I bought one and duct taped it into the MAF. I didnt get any dyno results, but It feels like 15hp and 13 foot pounds. But thats only using a "driven into the seat" dyno. Add the electric turbo, and wham bam thank you maam, you will be chasing zo6's, and pulling cruise liners

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

well it did but i think it added too much weight in the back, you know it was too loose into the corners. I actually had to de-tune the engine to protect it, dont wanna warp a head or blow a piston with all that power

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

Note that the Ebay listing states "up to 20 H.P." a range which includes zero, and perhaps also negative numbers. I have a bunch of extra guitar amp pots (variable resistors) laying around, maybe they would be "Custom Tunable Chips guaranteed for up to 50 extra H.P." ?

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

The amazing thing is that people actually buy them. I guess they must be selling them or they wouldnt be advertising. These have been around for a long time now.

I guess the sad part is that anybody who is stupid enough to fall for it is also to insecure to admit it and warn thier ricer buddies that they got ripped off, allowing the scam to continue...

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

I put in 5 of them. Why pay Stillen $6k when I can get the same performance for only $30.

I know you guys with the black Titans think you have the fastest color, but, I'm telling you it's silver. They don't call it quicksilver for nothing...

Re: Gain 20HP by adding a resistor????

I don't know how those knockers stay in business. They should have been run out by now. Look at that feedback.

BTW, I have performed a successful potentiometers mod (rather common) on my ZX2. Change the resistances in the IAT and ECT circuits and there IS power to be had. There's no substitute for a real chip, however.
