The instructions were straightforward. However, bolting the heatshield can be a little frustrating. I had a hard time installing the 4 nuts n bolts to the fender. Anyhow, the reason I picked this particular intake is because they use a dry filter. Didn't want the sensors to go off or the dealership to give me problems if there ever was one.
Don't know crap about Dynos or the numbers, but I know driving. Yes, there's a little bit loss at low rpm's, but once you get near 3800-4000 you actually here the "sucking" noise. It's awesome and there is a positive difference. I am content with my purchase and here's a pic after install.

What can we do to get back that HP we lose at the bottom end?? anyone?

Maybe my truck wasn't getting the most out of it's bottom end, but my a$$Ometer hasn't felt any difference in the bottom end. I have the 4wd crew cab. Only issue I has was related to the hose clamps being too small. I had to back them out as far as you could and then hold them pinched together so that I could then catch some thread.
Overall, I'm happy with the installation, it took me two hours to do everything, but I installed the CAI when I changed the oil and rotated the tires including swapping in the spare. I hate rotating what's in the tire carrier since I have to move child seats to get to the tools.
On the 4wd model has anyone found an easier way to change the oil than having to drop the front engine cover down? I've considered a filter relocation kit or swapping to an electric fan so I can go from the top. The only problem I see with the electric fan conversion is that I have an boat that I tow to OBX every year and the boat weights over 5000lbs without trailer and fuel.

My AEM wemt on first, didn't notice a loss in low end but didn't really notice a gain either. After I but the Banks on, with the two working together it really came alive.

I'm thinking Technosquare's ECU Flash with Full Tune. Other than that, I don't know. I have the same intake and coupled with Magnaflow exhaust. I did notice a small decrease in low end performance, but the gains on mid-to-high are great!
And congrats on the install. I think you'll be very happy.

It is only 4 allen screws. It takes about 30 seconds.
It's the point that you have to drop the pan to do the oil change.
Since I change my oil myself I can't help but wonder that it's going to be like in a few years when I have to drop the pan while living in the rust belt.
Personally, I've put anit-sieze on the bolt threads, but what about the other guy who takes his truck in to get serviced. Do you think those quick change oil change shops won't overtighten the bolts or round off the heads over time.
