That's cool. I was just on the yournissanparts.com or whatever and saw the intakes. I've obviously heard of those before but never took the time to learn what they did or what they were for. Just curious. I want to hear what one sounds like now.
Put some dry ice in your stock box, and now you have a CAI. You know, I might just have something there.
I have explained why that will not work twice on this forum already. If you put dry ice (also known as solid carbon dioxde) you will actually be cutting down the amount of oxygen getting to your engine because the dry goes directly to gaseous CO2 which actually hinders combustion. Not to mention the fact that you are putting something that is very cold into something that gets hot and cold. And snap goes your plastic air box.

The theory is based on the fact that colder air is more dense (more O2) so you make more power. In actual practice you get more air and maybe its a little colder.

a true cold air intake is something near the ground that actually gets the outside air in real time. But that holds a risk of getting water in the system if you hit a puddle. But most filters work by reducing air resistance from the filter

How about a metal airbox with dry ice on the outside.
How about a metal airbox with dry ice on the outside.
Actually, metal will crack too, plus it won't make that big of a difference on the outside.

Now if you have a seperate cooler full ice with a good drain setting next to the engine with the air intake filtering through it on a hot day might show some improvement for a short period of time (till the ice melts).
