Review: Volant Prefilter

I was having a real problem with my filter getting caked with dirt and silt in a very short time, mostly due to my glass fenders and lack of fenderliners so the intake hole sucks dirt right off the tires combined with the superfine dust we have in the desert.

I recently put on the Volant prefilter and its a huge differnce. Before I could clean the filter, take one short desert trip and need to clean it again. I put the prefilter on before sundays trip and when I got home the prefilter was coated in dust and silt but the main filter was almost spotless. I removed the prefilter and just sprayed it out with compressed air and its good as new.

For me this was definitly $30 well spent as it will save me hours cleaning the filter after every trip. If you hit the dirt much its something too look at.

Re: Review: Volant Prefilter

If I ever get an intake, I'll consider a prefilter. Good review

Re: Review: Volant Prefilter

Have had the prefilter on ever since I've had the Volant, (1/29/05). Keeps the filter clean and dry.

Re: Review: Volant Prefilter

Nice review, and a good idea.
Can you recommend a place to purchase?

Thanks,
