Re: Volant on fender...

How much of a gap are you talking? There is a bit of gap between the top part of the box and the fender. You can see where the inlet of the intake goes into the fender hole a bit. If it wasn't dark I would take a pic for you.

Re: Volant on fender...

The gasket that lines the intake hole on the side of the air box should be tight against the fender well. You do have this gasket on right?

ye but the airbox itself is kinda at an angle and theres like I would say a 1/5 gap between the fender hole and the gasket...Id take a pic myself but I have a loaner right now...prolly tomorrow Ill have my truck back...its easier to tell from under the truck or with the wheel well liner pulled back...

Re: Volant on fender...

My guess is that you might not have removed one of the forward original air box mounting bolts and that may be skewing the air box sideways away from the well. If that is so, remove that bolt and it should fit. Otherwise, loosen the mounting bolt that is at the bottom center of the air box, pull that sucker tight against the fender well and tighten the bolt back down with the air box in place.

hmmm...Ill try that loosening of a bolt and then tightening...Im sure I got all the bolts though...I noticed more of a gap when I put that darn pad underneath the volant...maybe Ill take that away...even with the pad it didnt seem to make a difference with "vibration" or whatever...
