Need Advice about Intakes/Exhaust

Ok guys, I don't know much about this stuff so please forgive me if this sounds stupid, but does a CAI produce any noticable results if I keep my stock exhaust, or do the two go hand-in-hand?

Thanks

Re: Need Advice about Intakes/Exhaust

it could but the two combined is were you get the bigger gains.. more airflow through the truck.. just my observation reading this site for almost a year and doing my exhaust first then CAI months later

Thanks P.

Anyone have any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive exhaust set up that has no or very little drone that would work well with a CAI?

The least amount or no drone systems are the Zoomers and the B&B exhausts. Both are not cheap. There are many other systems with very little drone. The air intakes are more subjestive. Many like AEM because it has the dry filter. Others like Volant becuse it is a closed box with an available cool intake tube that takes in air from the stock tow hook hole. The differences in hp are not huge between many of these combos. You will find people that sware by what they got. The stickies at the top of this forum will give you many opinions and sound clips. Find what you like.

Re: Need Advice about Intakes/Exhaust

I like my AEM Brute Force. It sounds great, and the dry filter is nice. As far as gains, I'm sure there is some with my stock exhaust, but I'm sure an upgraded exhaust kit would help, I just don't want the extra noise. I think most of the CAI's produce similar gains, but I got the AEM cause of the dry filter, and the aluminum intake tubing (versus plastic like most).

Re: Need Advice about Intakes/Exhaust

Dont worry about exhaust. You will see any advantages with the stock exhaust as well.
