Talking Anyone have the MAC intake yet?

MAC tends to make a great looking product with more attention to detail then any other company I have seen so far. They also use silicone instead of rubber. http://www.macperformance.com/store/...t_ID=1278Check it out.

Re: Anyone have the MAC intake yet?

Honestly, how can you say that?! It looks like they didn't want to bend any metal so they just cut short pieces and put them all together with silicone couplers.

just in case anyone had a prob with the extra "check" in the link

I also dont think its that great looks-wise especially for the cost...if I wanted that look AEM looks like a better choice plus it has a dryflow and this one looks like an oiled filter...

I don't know what the inside looks like, but if each joint is not flush, it would seem that those joints would be opportunities to create unwanted turbulance.

Re: Anyone have the MAC intake yet?

i was thinking about some of these kits that just have the two couplers at the TB and the filter end, and they arent all that flexible, and wondering how they work with the engine movement without stretching the rubber couplers? You can see the factory hose has the corragations to solve this issue. I suppose the engine doesnt move enough to be a problem.

the mac one might help in this area, by allowing more flex to compensate for engine movement.

On another note, I used to be in another forum dealing with another make of car, and there were MANY people who were running a MAC exhaust and/or headers, and just about all of them said they were junk, rusted quickly, didnt fit well, and mac was known to have quality control issues at the time. this was awhile ago, so maybe they have improved.
