'intake tube to the wheel well'

Just wondering if the tube from intake box into the wheel well existed in the '04 as it does in the '06 model? Will putting on a cold air intake as the AEM or the Volant help it any with already air coming in from the outside wheel well? Please give inputs.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

If you want more air and sound remove the fender liner then reset the ecu.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

yes, 04 is same as 06. There are gains to be had, aprox. 2 hp due to the freer flowing filter included in these kits. The higher gains shown in the advertisements can be partially attributed to them dynoing with the hood open. Hood closed has shown an average of 2 hp. Save your $270 is my suggestion.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

sounds like you have played around with more than an intake, like advanced timing, banks, etc...

there was a article on the internet where they dynoed three different intake kits with the hood closed, gaining 2 hp on each of them

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

The Volant is an enclosed box so I doubt hood open or closed would make any difference.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

Read Shaileys posts about cai's on Club Titan and you will find out all did atleast 8hp-14hp think volant / aem gained top spots.. Shailey has been testing/tuning his truck with all the available cai/exhaust combos so prove which works best with the titans.

Does Volant make a claim of a certain number power increase in thier literature? Ive seen AEM show dyno sheets on thier web page, does volant do the same?

volant was one of the ones tested. they all were the same with the hood closed,

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

The Volant has shown a constistant 10hp and 14-20 lbft gain time and time again on the dyno. As modstrodomus pointed out, since the Volant is a sealed system having the hood open or closed should have no detrimental effect on performance for a dyno run.

You negative Nancys and your ideological views. Just because you dont want to spring the change for an intake doesnt mean they dont work. This is tangible evidence, not stories of the prophet Volant and his followers horsepowerus and tourqeus.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

so the volant alone was dynoed and showed a 10 hp gain, or a volant with an exhaust?

Im not negative, I speak the truth. Show me the dynos. wheres the people who dynoed a volant on an otherwise stock motor and saw a 10 hp gain? come out, come out where ever you are....

BTW, the tests I am referring do werent done on a titan, but another full size, although i suspect the results would be similar.

Re: 'intake tube to the wheel well'

Do a little research before you debate something. There are a myraid of dynos both here and especially over @ cl ubtit an in the performance section under dyno numbers.

Here is Jettech's dyno comparison of stock to Volant. Granted there are variables, but the same data has been repeated by numberous people both here and 'there'. Enjoy your search for the holy grail, more than 1 HP without a flux capacitor.

JetTech was one of the first to put in the Volant and do a baseline dyno to Volant CAI comparo.
