I ordered up an AEM (Dryflow) CAI and Airraid TBS.
I have a modded airbox and hi-flow filter, but it's not cutting it. Plus, I plan on getting the timing advance this weekend, so it's time to run with the big(er) dogs.
It should be here tomorrow, so I'll be busy tomorrow after work, with the install.
Just in time for the meet this weekend!!

You will definatly like the new additions :P You'll be pushing close to 295hp with that and the banks :P Get you some Powerflow longtube headers and you should maybe hit 310-315.. Still haven't dyno'ed mine yet trying to decide what I plan to do to tune mine after all these mods..
Technosquare is doing ECU tuning in cali for 495.00 for a full custom tune that corrects:
Fuel map
Ignition timing map
Electronic throttle map WOT launches BABY
Speed limit
Rev limit

I just installed the AEM, and all I can say is HOLY ****ING ****, BATMAN!!!
What was I thinking!?!? I had the modded intake with a drop-in filter, but this is a whole different level. My truck struggled before below 3,000rpms. My 60' times were around 3 seconds. That was using a g-tech.
But that problem is now solved!!
For those debating a CAI, get one-GET ONE NOW!!! You'll love it!!!

I did NOT install the airraid. I'm doing things in stages, and testing (with a g-tech) as I install things. So, the TBS will go on next week, possibly.
So, to answer your question, I can't honestly say yes, but I think there's a benefit to it, but only below 3,000 rpms.

I have the modded airbox r you going to sell the hi-flow filter... i would like to ry it see if it make a different from the oem filter
congrats on your purchase i can only whish and wait ...
My bottom end is much more responsive, but the jury's still out.
I have a g-tech, and I've been doing some 'testing', and there's def. an improvement in my 60' mark. I'm down to almost 2.50 seconds, which is down from 3.00. 2.50 still isn't the best, but it's much improved.

Buzz glad to hear at least you are getting something out of it. If you can please post some PICs. I would love to see it as I'm considering the AEM as well. BTW Buzz how far away are you from Ft. Dix. I'll be there all next week and it would be cool to see that CAI install in person. MAybe we could meet half way or something for lunch. Just a thought. My new tires will be install on Tuesday so I'm stoke about that. Anyway keep us posted on your numbers there Buzz...
By your UPDATE: post above I thought it was a done deal. Do you mind sharing what has changed or made you reconsider?
Thanks
I think part of it is the truck is 'learning/adjusting' for the CAI.
So, my inital performance of a crisp throttle and low-end increase in power is starting to change. It doesn't feel as crisp.
I know several things could cause this-bad gas(which I doubt), warner temps, although it's still in the 60's where I live. So, I'm not sure.
I did re-set the ECU.
So, like I said, more testing and more playing to see what the CAI will bring.
I will say my 60' mark times have gone down from 3.00 seconds to 2.60 and even as low as 2.47. Which has shaved a few tenths of my 1/4 mile times.
I will say that's def. from the CAI, and probably some from getting better launches.

I'm going to hold onto it for now. I'm still not 'won-over' by the CAI, so we'll see.
I can tell you, you'll see a difference between a hi-flow and stock.
If I do decide to get rid of it, I'll let you know!
ok, so you think that the modded box and hi-flow filter are almost as good as the CAI is there not much difference. I understand that u drop a couple of seconds in your times but what do u honestly think... beside the cool factor of having one and the looks is it worth it
