Stillen Intake.

Hey guys, have any of you tried the Stillen intake kit yet? Its 300 bucks but looks like a good alternative to the Volant.

Re: Stillen Intake.

I like it, buts it too expensive and uses the factory intake tubing. For that money, it should include a new tube.

Re: Stillen Intake.

You can get a NISMO intake which is designed for the truck on ebay for about $230.00. It includes everything you need, Including the tube!!

Re: Stillen Intake.

I wouldn't say it is more designed for the truck than anybody else's. Isn't it just a rebadged K&N or AEM?

Re: Stillen Intake.

Yeah, a lot more HOT air.

I dont find a system that is worse then the factorys to be a good value

If you look at the pics I posted above, you can see that the intake is placed right by the snorkel hole in the fender, and is pretty much sealed from the engine compartment. Seems it would be a nice alternative and more complete than the $300 Stillen. From the spec sheets I've reviewed it does hop up the performance. But, again it's all a personal preference.

Re: Stillen Intake.

Yeah, they dyno them with the hood open, which can aid the results of the open filter design.

i just like the stillens set up, I think the heat shields look like crap with the rubber strip, hunk of aluminum, and they are not going to seal out all the hot air coming from the motor/exhaust manifold.

for $250 plus, ill pass.

Re: Stillen Intake.

Yah the Stillen does seem very expensive considering your paying for a box and air filter. I do like how its sealed like the Volant. I dont see any dyno numbers on the web page.
