I received a call from my local dealership saying that due to the fact that they want to take their time and do this thing the right way, they are estimating 20 - 25 hrs of install/troubleshooting time.
The service manager said their biggest concern is the splicing of the wire harness of the ecu. If they mess up, they will have to eat the cost of providing a new one.
I sent them the install instructions last week and the service manager picked a tech that owns a Titan and is a gearhead. He said there are only three techs in his shop that he would allow to install the kit.
He said if the actual install/test time is less, he'll charge me less. If it's more than $1800, he'll cap it and eat the rest.
I trust the service manager. He's done very well by me. Free timing advance, free diff cover, free tire rotations with oil changes and the willingness to do aftermarket work while honoring the warranty.
What do you think?

It sounds like you really trucst the guy. If you're going to spend all that $$ on the Supercharger you will want to make sure the thing is installed correctly! Do they have a history of installing forced induction on other vehicles? Experience counts too.

that's a lot of money to trust someone. You may want to shop around and see other shops that have have more experience and also a less on your pocket book. All shops unless explicitly stated are responsible for damages to your vehicle if they do something wrong.

There are speed shops around here, but none that have installed the Stillen s/c on a Titan.
I'm thinking that whatever happens as a direct result of the install, will be covered. Of course I will get the explicit details of what they will and will not cover before the possible install.
I have the TruTrac on order and I'm thinking about getting a valve body mod by Level 10 to beef up the tranny. The guy said the mod will make the tranny withstand over 600hp at the wheel.

That I don't know. I think that most people around here don't go to the dealership for performance mods. This is the first I found that is eager and willing to do them.
Most tell me that they don't want to be held liable for any resulting damages.

If you email me or PM me with your zip code and some cities in your area I can find some companies with experience on installing our superchargers. Also give me an estimate on how many miles you would be willing to travel to have the kit installed.
