Best exhaust setup for performance?

Title says it all. Sound is not important to me. I just want to know what system will give the largest performance gains.

Re: Best exhaust setup for performance?

I don't think you can go wrong with the Banks Monster Exhaust. Its very loud, but you said you don't care so there ya go. lol

I'm no guru by any means, but I would recommend that whatever you get that it be a single side exit exhaust.

Some folks (me being one of them) would also recommend you get an intake to compliment your exhaust. That or get a drop-in filter with the stock air box mod.

Good luck... and let the fun begin!

Everyone is going to recommend what they already have on their truck, so you have to go with Flowmaster...

Re: Best exhaust setup for performance?

The MagnaFlo muffler is by far the more intelligent choice.....after all, Mario Andretti is the company spokesman.

There is a good exhuast sticky under the Performance Fourm. It has sound clips and a good dicussion on the different exhausts.

I did. No luck. Everyone is talking about the SOUND of thier exhaust. Which I don't care about.
My concern is ONLY about performance.

As another poster said, everyone just posts about thier own exhaust they have. I wish I could find some hard data about all the different setups.

Re: Best exhaust setup for performance?

I hear it's the Magnaflow that still uses the stock Y pipe. That's what I've read so far.....

Re: Best exhaust setup for performance?

Now when you say performance do you mean with just an exhaust and maybe a CAI, or do you mean further down the road you are going to do headers, cams, and maybe a SC or TC? That matters
