Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

I ran with the Banks Exhaust and AFE Intake and pulled a 14.997@91.22 with the O/R package.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

it should get you off the line quicker, but I don't know how much it improves the overall 1/4 mile-maybe 1 or 2 tenths, possbily....

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

Here's how I see it:

Pros:
Higher gearing
Less squat (Ranchos vs. Tokicos)
More Traction (wider tires)

Cons:
More weight (skid plates, tires)

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

I don't have any numbers, but I used to have an '04 4x2 with the BT and OR and it was noticeably faster than my '05 4x4 without BT and OR. At the time I bought my '05 I didn't realize that the gearing was different, but it didn't take me long to figure it out!! It also got around 15 mpg vs. my current 13 mpg.

I have an se crew cab with offroad and big tow all stock. I ran a 15.197. Most times were 15.2xx. Not too bad for stock.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

We only have an 1/8 mile track here but I ran a 10.0 I think. Ran better in 4 wheel drive for sure. I have a vid somewhere of the run when I had my king cab. Give me a few and I will post it.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

Ok. Here is a vid. This one shows a 10.1 run but the best of the day was a 10.0. I was racing my buddies 350Z. He spun the wheels too much and backed off. That's his car you are hearing doing the burn out.

For comparison sake, here is my Silverado SS. Ran consistent 9.5's in this. It was great spanking my buddies Hemi with this. Especially after he was talking so much smack. His hemi ran consistent 9.9's.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

Nice vids! Cerino if you don't mind me asking, why did get rid of the Silverado SS?

BTW My Titan with intake/exhaust pulls 9.5 down the 1/8, so there is hope for your new truck to be as quick as your old one.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

I had the SS for a month and just hated it. I had originally the Titan king cab which is what you see in that vid. Traded it for the SS and traded for the Titan CC that I have now. The cam/tranny/gearing of the Titan is just far superior. Makes for an excellent driving truck. After you have that, if you go back to a regular ol' 4-spd trans it's just not the same. Plus, the SS was lowered and I REALLY hated how the tires would rub when backing up and cutting the wheel and such.

Re: 1/4 mile times with off road package

i have a friend who has a SS all modded up. its an all-wheel drive for better traction, supercharged, chipped, and some other things and its so freaking loud i swear it sounds like the baddest hot rod and you look up and its a SS truck. i think hes beaten everyone hes ever raced. i need to find out some times what hes ran.
