Amsoil is the only dry dropin I know of. I keep checking every week for other dry performance dropins and nothing is out there yet.

Purolator PureOne has a dry drop in that looks like the same technology as the AmsOil. Got it at Advanced Discount Auto- Autozone has it too.

Re: Loudest exhaust and which air filters are dry?

Just did a long search on the Pureone air filter, and found a few forums on it. It's an oiled dropin according to many posters. One poster said it even says oiled on the side of the package. Here is just one post of several:

I just bought a PureOne for my 5.3L engine. It was 2x the price of the regular Purolator ($33.97 vs. $17.98). It looks very well built with a light oil coat, stiff pleats and a nice base.

Re: Loudest exhaust and which air filters are dry?

Most have said the Banks is pretty loud. I know it's a sweet sound and you won't have any perofrmance loss (low end torque) because of it.

I was running the AmsOil air filter with nanofiber technology, along with the Banks. I noticed an immediate improvement with the AmsOil filter over stock filter. If you plan on going that route, be sure to cut the snorkel back that inside the stock airbox.

But if you really want to the full sound benefit of the Banks, you NEED a CAI!

You sir are correct, I just read the WHOLE box. When I did a search for dry drop in's that one came up. The Tech at Discount Advanced confirmed it was dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang it, I will run it for a while and then replace it with the AmsOil. The must use Extra Virgin Olive Oil, cause by looking at it you cannot tell its oiled!

THanks for the education Sudden!!!!!!!!!

Re: Loudest exhaust and which air filters are dry?

Just ordered the Amsoil EAA-104 today, and bought it through Talkinghorse, a Titantalk member and supporting vendor. He offers a nice discount to TT members. I'm currently running a Flowmaster 70 and modified airbox snorkel with the stock paper filter.

Re: Loudest exhaust and which air filters are dry?

The Banks is loud but I'm sure you could design a custom exhaust to be louder. I would imagine that the SVT Cobras may still scream much louder than you will with the Banks.
