Phx area timing advance mod

Ok I have a dealer that will do the advance mod for us and possibly the AF ratios as well. It will be setup on a specific day within the next few weeks. I will post more info as its is released.

If you are interested in getting it done reply here. The more we get the better.

not to hijak your thread but speaking to a Service Manager, he said you will need to use Premium Gas for this to work right.

He's wrong.
2 degrees bump in timing won't cause your to have to use premium, also the A/F change will bring your Titans A/F mixture closer to stock that it is running now if you have CAI and Exhaust.
Our trucks have knock sensors so the truck will pull timing (as much as it needs to) if you start getting detonation. I have seen quite a few print-outs pulled from the up-rev cipher softwarwe over on the other Titan board where folks have the bump in timing and the AF mixture change and it shows no timming pull unless the temps are high with regular fuel. Thus it seems our trucks are more prone to having a problem with heat soak than with with running 87 gas with 17 degrees timing. The knock sensors won't let you run any more timing more than what the gas in your tank will support. I will have the Cipher software this summer so if you want we can meetup (I live in Tucson) and do some data logging to see if your trucks pulling timming with regular fuel and we can test it when it's cold and hot)

Kartman
Keep me in the loop. I'd hate to miss this but I'm a single Dad and it may be hard for me to make it up there on a specific day.
I know for a fact I can make it this comming Monday through next Thursday, then the 3rd-8th of June, and then the 20th-22nd of June. Those are the days my daughters dead beat mom has agreed to spend time with her.

Re: Phx area timing advance mod

I don't have CAI or exhaust, would I still benefit from the timing advance?

Yes, the A/F change is the best option for modded Titans

Is there instructions for the A/F change so I can give the dealer?

Cobalt,
Have you seen the instruction anywhere to change the A/F using the consult machine? Is the general consensus that the 106% map is the best for CAI and exhaust? I know I can get my dealer to do it but only if I bring them a cheat sheet.
Thanks,
Hellions

I haven't seen it here but I'm pretty damn sure it's posted on the "Other" Ttian site whos initials are CT. Do a search for posts made by "shailey". I know he's done it and knows how to do it also. If you PM you he may be able to get you a link or provide you the instructions but I don't want to speak for him.

Re: Phx area timing advance mod

Count me in Kartman. I get off the rig and fly home on the 26th of May, after that I am home for 3 weeks except for the 30th May to the 2nd of June (camping in Flagstaff). Just let me know when you want to meet up.
