If anybody wants to do a swap out to 3.36 gears i have a complete 3.36 e-locker rear end.... 1 axle is out for the test fit of the tru-trac,,,, if sombody wants this i will make them a killer deal ... i think the only thing wrong was in the e-locker,,, this is not a shippable item it is heavy!!!!!
Mine was at the doorstep when I got home to!! Shwing!!
Now I see why mine cost $511. They gave me the carrier bearings (even though I did not order them), but thats okay... prob best to replace them along with it.
Now the hard part... finding a reputable gear shop in town to git 'r done.

just got home and guess what was on in my garage?? trutrac baby.....lol hopefully ill get it installed soon.
Man with your Stillen in there too you should be able to lay some really good rubber down. That sure is one tricked out Titan. BTW did you ever sell your Volant and install the Fram Boost?
I paid them 750.00 but i added a bit since they installed it twice....thanks detroit....so that 2 installs and twice the amount of gear oil....
Did they use the same bolts from the OEM carrier to bolt the ring gear onto the Tru Trac? (i.e., do the holes in the Tru Trac have the same thread as the holes in the OEM diff carrier?)

The threaded holes are in the ring gear so the holes for the ring gear on the true-trac are just plain holes,,,,
I'm thinking about it. One place just quoted me $511 to do the install.
I would need to buy:
seal puller $10
dial indicator with magnetic base $40
carrier bearing spanner tool $55
Then I would need to find a transmission shop that would press the carrier bearings onto the Tru Trac with the loctite sleeve lock stuff.
Bestatchess,
That sure is an incredibly high estimate. My concern is while contacting these shops and asking them to install a part that "I orderded" (rather than them) will cause me nothing but grief.
It is totally understandable that a mechanic would like to provide the "part" (So they can make sure they get the right part and most of all to make a profit. After all they are in business to make money.) as well as the "labor".
My hopes are that I will be able to find someone that doesnt make a big deal about me providing the parts.
That remains to be seen in my case. Been way to busy during normal business hours to call anyone yet.

Wow my guy at tranny shop said $2-250 was about right. I find out next week exactly what "about right" is.

I bought from West Coast. I am still having trouble finding a place to install it down here in West Palm. Only one place said they would do it for about $300.
