Automatic Transmission Gears for the RE5R05A are available!
Automatic Transmission Gears for the RE5R05A are available! Taller and shorter gears, look at the file attachment. Who is an auto trans geek I’m not help us out, can we swap and put the Titan TCU in it, or change the gears?
Re: Automatic Transmission Gears for the RE5R05A are available!
All of the vehicles on the list use the RE5R05A trany. The Titan has 2 types of trany housings one for the two wheel drive (95X1C) and one for the four wheel drive (95X1D) this is for the way they bolt on. The Titan is ( 1st = 3.827, 2nd = 2.368, 3rd = 1.52, 4th = 1, and 5th = .834 ) The guts are interchangable I think. If so the 1st gear in the 350z is 3.54 and the Pathfinder 1st gear is 3.842 one is smaller and one is larger it's the same for the other gears 2nd thru 5th this is why we need someone who knows tranys

I can send this request over to a tranny guy I know who is extended family to see what he thinks.
What do you wanta know? If the TCU will work with a 350Z gear? That my titaneer is indeed a $5K question.

Re: Automatic Transmission Gears for the RE5R05A are available!
I did just search and it dawned on me that this model tranny is used in the Infinity '03 G35/Fx35/Fx45/M45/Q45...so I guess it's safe to say that the parts are interchangeble....???
And that maybe why I can't find a used one anywhere.

Not all of them have the TCM on the valve body. Some have an external TCM (and there are controllers/programmers for those). I'm also wonding on the gearing if that means the teeth are smaller to fit those ratios on there. And in that case it would make the tranny weaker. This is a good find, but I'd be getting some specs on it. What's needed is a real shift kit of valve body mod that works.

I'd like to know what "almost identical" means??
I'm going to over to a 350Z site to see if they are talked about on the forum. Maybe someone can help look over there as well?? This seems to be a good price as well.

Re: Automatic Transmission Gears for the RE5R05A are available!
Well since this is a tranny thread I did find this adapter plate for a GM tranny. Only problem is that they currently have no flexplate and the adapter fits a G35/350Z.
Reply email from them: Randy,
Right now we just have the adapter plate to go from VQ35 to GM. A flexplate might be on the way sometime late this summer. Sorry we couldn't be of more help.
Regards,
Matt - RMR
