Just picked up a 2005 Titan KC 4WD. Been checking out different exhaust systems available and have been browsing the forum for a while....
Has anyone ever cut out the stock muffler and throw in a straight pipe?
What was the outcome?

In addition to probably not sounding very good (my opinion), you'll probably lose significant performance, especially at low rpms, due to a loss of back pressure.

Agree with previous posts, you need backpressure, or you will lose all low end torque, and your MPG will go down the crapper.
Probably won't sound good either. If you want loud and cheap, swap in a 40 series flowmaster with the stock pipes. If you want loud and not so cheap, get a Banks system. The sound is amazing, and its nice and loud.
Welp, thanks for the feedback guys...even the smart a$$es.....

If you do throw a different muffler on, be sure to cut the snorkel out of the factory airbox, and add a drop-in filter. It'll increase airflow and give your truck a lil' more rumble.
The total airbox mod will set you back less than $50.00, and a few minutes of your time.
BTW-Weclome to TT!
Post a picture of your truck, when you can.

I heard the flowmaster 70 is a great choice, nice sound and no drone.
