It's not illegal unless you have it mounted improperly and you MUST have a NOS sticker clearly visible on the window, so rescue people know you have it inside your vehicle incase your in a accident.. Least that's how it was in cali and I'm sure it's the same in many other states.. Nitrous oxide will kill you if the bottle is damaged in a crash.. that's why it's imperative to have it mounted very securely
