Re: performance?

We don't have spark plug wires...I think it's that "coil on plug" setup that's become popular.....I suppose you could get a different brand spark plug.....but on a stock motor there really isn't a point to that....I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I think that your quest for performance ignition parts is a bust.....I sure do miss those fancy Accel yellow spark plug wires that I used to put on every vehicle I ever owned...and not to mention the Mallory super coil.....aaah, the good 'ol days.....wait...now I have a vivid memory of being stranded at the beach due to my "points" going bad in my distributor....maybe I'm glad them good 'ol days are long gone.....does anybody remember how to set the dwell on points ??

Yes I do, with a dwell meter. I remember GM V-8's were 30 degrees

Re: performance?

Yep....even remember how to file the point surfaces flat so that they make good contact, and how to set the gap with a feeler gauge!

Re: performance?

You guys all need to come over to my new place and play with my P-car. Dual carbs to synchronize, loose accelerator linkages, points, plugs, valves that need adjustment everytime you drop it hard up a hill..... It'd better be a labor of love or nobody would ever put up with all the constant adjustments those old cars require...
