Will this work?

Hello all, I dont post much but I need an answer before I screw something up. All the threads and post I read say the Titan runs a little rich. If someone were to make a spacer for the MAF sensor that made it read a lesser air reading, wounldnt that cut the fuel back a little? I cant afford high price intakes for fuel economy but I have a freind in maching that can make me a spacer for free. What are ya'lls thoughts on this. Already made tube cut and gained 3 mpg. Let me know.

Re: Will this work?

Interesting Idea. Let me know if you do this, and whether it works or not. What tube cut are you referring too?? More details please.

Re: Will this work?

Its the DIY Air Box Mod.

Search for this... diy-air-box-mod

Cant do links, not enough post under my belt. I didnt cut the tube completely off, cut about halfway down then across, gave it a flat edge so it would cover that huge void.

Re: Will this work?

Mike,

Here's the website. Read through it's pretty understandable why they have this product, and it seems to work. Also you can do a search on here for it, and I'm sure there are a few threads about.

Ben

Make sure you read through all the tabs on this web page.

Re: Will this work?

Yes, not lying, I even showed my friends, they make fun of my $55 fill ups. They would check my mpg and laugh at me. Now they aren't laughing as much. Damn civic owners. Went from 10-11 to now I'm at 13-14 with a paper filter. I couldn't believe it either. My dealership wont do the 2° mod so I am hoping this spacer idea will work. Need to try the grounding kit.

Yes there is but I will never go to them, they thought that since I was young I didnt have good credit and tried to get me to buy a Sentra. So, screw them. I only have two dealerships in my area unless I want to drive an hour to another one. I have 26,600 mile on her.

Who did you talk to at the dealer, who said they wouldn't do it? I was just wondering on the miles, because the more broke in your engine gets the better the milage gets. Thought maybe you had low miles.

Re: Will this work?

Service dept. guy. Its the same guy that said my a/c leaks into my cab because I park under a tree. Smart guy. I need to go design this part but waiting for truck to get back to me, its at dealership getting a/c figured out. The worse thing that happens is a blown the motor, which on ebay I saw one for $1500 with tranny, not too worried about blowing it.

I am curious if you have any instructions or diagrams that came with your kit, that you are willing to post here. I would like to see what is involoved in installing the grounding kit before I buy it. I'd also appreciate your testimonial on any noticeable improvements after the install. I guess I am a bit of a skeptic...You don't work for Active Tuning do you...
