tail gate HELP

i have a spray in bed liner and they guy who put it in @#$* it up. any way he did on the tail gate there is a panel that screws on and he striped the screw holes out...i have new screws but two of the 8 holes are striped out also...any ideas how to make them fit?

Use slightly larger screws. They are sheet metal screws right? or are they machine thread. If they are threaded. Get a tap and put new threads in. easy enough to do.

Either use bigger diameter screws or drill them out and install some threaded inserts. Problem with larger diameter screws is the length usually gets longer when you go up in size, but not always.

Bigger screws should work, the parts inside the tailgate that the screws is attached to is also plastic. I suspect instead of using a hand held screw driver he use a electric drill or similar. It don't take much to strip them plastic piece. Just fill in the hole with epoxy or other type filler/glue wait till it dry and rescrew using your hand not cordless drill. I did this after stripping two of the hole also.
