I see you're new here. Welcome to Titan Talk.

Thanx bro, wasnt in a good mood that day...probably shouldnt have taken it out on you. I did ask my mechanic about the TB Spacer and he says he's seen a few customers come in the shop with em' but recommended that I go with a K&N intake if I was looking for an easy HP/MPG increase. He said if the TB Spacer wasnt installed correctly that I'd have CK Engine lights going off like crazy (O2 sensor etc...) His thoughts: More trouble than its worth from what he's seen. He also told me I should keep up with the air pressure in my tires...said thats one of the biggest mpg killers, Glad I have a TITAN...PSI sensor comes standard!

I usually run my tires on the firm side. Unfortunately, Tire Pressure System doesn't light up until one of the tires is pretty low. It's a great warning system, but I try to check my tire pressure at least monthly.

Re: BIG throttle body for Titan

Just to provide a quick update...my two partners in crime and I have been working the details, details, details...stay tuned for when we get at least a couple of variations to the system up and running. I think all will like the results. Oh yeah, in case I haven't mentioned it on the thread yet. The big TB is actually 80mm bore for the early 90's mechanical style, 90mm is the outside diameter of the input housing. Got to run for now.

Re: BIG throttle body for Titan

my .02 may be worth giving me change back but here goes.

i think a bigger throttle body would be a good mod not so much for increased air flow capabality but because of our electronic drive by wire setup. i can feel when i floor the gas that at certain rpms the truck pulls back throttle and someone on here used cypher and showed the throttle pulls back to 75% or so. with a 80 or 90 mm throttle body instead of 70mm, maybe we won't gain air flow, but when our truck PULLS BACK THE GAS which we all hate, then it won't have any effect on performance. why you may ask? it would flow enough air that we wouldn't feel the loss of power from our stupid computer. of course, a true tune would be a more efficent way of doing it, but i say for now we find a bigger throttle body mod and we'd be flowing enough air for wot take offs despite what our computer is trying to do.
to illustrate:
flow rate at wot at 75% when titan robs us of power
70mm 650cfm(305hp) 475(feel the loss of power)
90 800cfm(overkill) 600(enough power for taking off fast)

let the flaming begin...

Re: BIG throttle body for Titan

Good theory, and reasonable, considering the airflow should be measured before the throttle, and the Manifold Absolute Pressure is used specifically to fire the injector pulses in most cases. This would make the bigger trottle body cancel out the throttle position and shift point doo doo we have in the stock ecms.
