Building VK56DE in Zcar

Ok guys for those of you VK56DE performance junkies and for those that like the Z cars you gotta check this guys build up.

http://www.flzclub.com/vk56de/

I have been in touch with him and right now he has put it aside as he is doing renovations to his home. We have been collaborating on the engine and I can't wait to see the flow test head results and the intake design he comes up with and ofcourse what the motor makes with a stand alone ECU.

Also take note of the upper and lower intake on the VK45DE motor he has..I been on him to test fit it on the VK56DE to see if it would fit. Only problem would be a need for RAM Air hood to compensate for the side mounted TB....Ouch...kicking myself in chin

I wish he would have dynoed the engine before he ripped it down. That would give every one a tru HP rating.

Gonna be wild!
Hey RB, tell him Summit Racing has the remote flter parts.
#PRM-195 OIL FILTER ADAPTER
#TRD-1075 REMOTE BRACKET
I went with this bracket because so that both would be 3/8npt.
I trust he will strengthen the frame & steering components to handle the weight & power.
Keep us posted.

Wow! That'll be wicked! Will that monster actually fit under the hood of a '72 Z? Even with a Ram air hood, isn't this engine much taller than the original powerplant?

I have a 1976 280Z- the straight 6 is a pretty tall engine itself- it would be very close

Re: Building VK56DE in Zcar

I hope the built 300ZX tranny will handle the monster. Otherwise an adapter to G35/350 manual or a Chevy tranny might need to happen???

Tell ya what with all the torque the stock motor puts out I bet that frame flexs at luanch...not to mention what size springs will be needed to hold up her nose.
