Exclamation Rusty Flowmasters.....

Just got my '06 LE. No off road pkg but it does have tow. I have been sitting on a pair of flowmaster 40's until I got my new ride but now I am wondering if they are too rusted too use. They were a hand me down from my dad's dodge but are only a few years old and were rusty on the outside when i got them (don't know about the inside). Does anyone know if they will still work ok or am I screwed.
