CAI Questions

I appologize if this has already been covered elsewhere, but I gotts a couple of questions I was wondering if someone could answer.

Temperature Drop
Does anyone know how much the actual temperature drop is from installing one of these?

Also, with or without a cold air intake, has anyone noticed a (or even dyno'd) a huge difference in hp/tq from winter to summer (an easy temp swing of 40* on average), or even day to night (temp swing of 20*).

More Effecient Shape
How much more effecient is a conical air filter than the air conditioner style ones that we got? Could the effecieny(sp) gained from it account for the gains in hp?

If so, would it make more sense to do like Mr.B, and fashion a homemade cai for around $60 as opposed to spending around $300 for an aftermarket one?

just a thought,
and thanks,
-me
