True Flow Filter?

I was just reading the latest Sand Addiciton I picked up at the Sand Sports Super Show and they have a review of some different air filters and a decet test.

As usual they tested paper, vs gauze (2 kinds some green gauz kind and a K&N) and a True Flow foam filter.

Although the K&N flowed the most air the True Flow filtered the best and did not clog even after it was dirty (sounds similar to the new amsoil filter). it does to me sound like one of the best systems for our trucks but I have not sceen any dynos. Then again I'd rather know my engine and oil is clean than have a 5 HP gain on a dyno at some extreamly high RPM...

I found this link.

http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/TRU70510.html

Now K&N was better than paper but let in alot of particles which would be bad for offroad use. I'm still planning to use a K&N and outerwear on my ATV since it's a 2 stroke and needs to be rebuilt every few years anyways but I don't plan on rebuilding my titan anytime soon....

Anyone tried one of these? Seems to me that with some airbox modding this looks like it may be a great way to go.

Also at the San Sports Supershow, AEM was there and had a dyno graph posted for the Nissan Titan boasting 17HP gain at around 3000 something RPMs. They said the gains were one of their absolute best setups out of all their vehicles. I'm not sure I buy it...They were advertising their oiless filters and intakes though so this may also be a great way to go I'm not sure. But I have no idea how they would compare to something like a True-Flow filter filtration wise. If a filter is capable of flowing THAT much more air then there is likely going to be a trade off in filtration, especialy without going to a filter that has more surface are.

Re: True Flow Filter?

i have done the air box mod and run a true flow drop in filter. have had no problems with it. didn't really see any increase since the mod, but after seeing the video at trueflow.com i was convinced.

Re: True Flow Filter?

They seem to be pretty good filters. I'd run one myself if they made a conical big enough. Material doesn't matter as much as surface area for superchargers. I use a S&B conical filter..much better than anything K&N offers and costs a bit less.

Re: True Flow Filter?

Ok, I just installed the TrueFlow CAI. My question is... I have been running a K&N dropin filter. Is there any reason not to run it with the Trueflow?

I have not purchased the Trueflow cleaner/kit but have the K&N as I run them in all 3 of my vehicles.

If I can still run the K&N I'll have the trueflow foam dropin for cheap
