Flowmaster 50 SUV/Perf Muffler

Hi all, I'm planning an exhaust change on my '04 Titan and am only changing the muffler, keeping the stock piping. I've almost made up my mind on a Flowmaster 50 SUV/Performance muff (what a GREAT sound it has from the clips I've heard!). What are the pros/cons of dual vs single outputs? Will I lose HP with one over the other? Thanks!

Re: Flowmaster 50 SUV/Perf Muffler

someone corect me if i'm wron, but i believe that dual outputs USUALLY have a bit more turbulence if it's not designed properly (i.e. single in/dual out), which has an adverse effect on HP. true duals (i think sammy sandbag and kartman run them) with a proper X-pipe can show pretty good gains, especially at higher RPMs.

although i noticed a difference in acceleration when switching from the stock muffler to a magnaflow muffler, i don't really know how to explain how or why...best way i can come up with is due to a decrease in backpressure, which allows the exhaust to enter with less turbulence.

BUT someone please come and contradict me, because i'll be honest, i'm not too sure about this stuff (i didn't get a chance to read the HUGE "backpressure" thread)

Banks Monster Exhaust

Well, my Dad talked me into buying a BANKS Monster cat back exhaust system and I'm stoked! He's had a BANKS on his Ford for years and loves it. I plan on ordering it tomorrow via phone, hoping they'll give me a military discount or at least free shipping.
