Think i have finally settled on an exhaust setup.....

well i changed my factory muffler out for a glasspack, and while it sounded awesome in the beginning (see my sig for sound and video clips) the glasspack seems to have worn out already and is giving me a nasty, raspy popping under accel above 3500 RPM's, i mean so nasty i dont even want to get on the throttle around a fellow titan owner much less a dodge HEMI....that being said... i want to do a true dual setup using a flowmaster 50 series muffler as the crossover... flowmaster says it works excellent that way, but come to find out the only 50 muffler that is DIDO (dual in dual out) is the 50 SUV which is one step above the 70 series (too quiet for me) so i guess i will go with a 40 series, just dont know which one. i have 2 friends with titans, one has the 40 delta (havent heard his) and the other has the super 40. the super 40 sounds awesome, has a good rumble that reminds me of an old mustang almost.... but he says the drone is loud at some speeds... so i want to hear the 40 delta sound, that guy says his drone is a lot less than the super 40, i can deal with drone as long as i can work my speed around it or it isnt over bearing, headache giving.... well i guess i havent fully decided yet... lol. i do want SS rolled 3.5 inch slant cut tips straight out the back, spaced as far apart as good taste allows... should look good... whaddaya think?

Don't get true duals...A lot of people who have true duals regret it I have read. Just get a single side-exit with y-pipe.

I think you'll lose a lot of low-end power with true duals....

Re: Think i have finally settled on an exhaust setup.....

I regret putting on the custom mandrel duals I use to have. If they are 2.25'' dual I'd say OK. Dual 2.5'' are a little to open for our 5.6....the low end loss wasn't worth the small gain up top I had a X-Pipe and all! I had a Banks before the duals. I gained .25 sec in the quarter mile going back to a single exit 3''. The y pipe on the JBA is tuned for exhaust velocity w the 2.25'' > 3'' y-pipe'! What really made me change was the SPL under a load. After a 10 or so fishing trips I was tired of all that noise....I also have headers!
