I was talking to the head of Research and develoment for awhile after the tour ended and he was just explaining to me why they did certain things to the TITAN...the stuff we were wondering why they hell they didn't do! But as he started to explain to me, the TITAN is probably has one of the most advanced ECU's, for a truck that is. He said, the market is so big for the Domestics cuz they are easy to mess around with, there wasn't as much data to input to create a preformance tuner, but when it came to trying to figure out how to tune the TITAN, the R&D head said there is so much information and data that tuners don't even want to mess with it. That explains why we havn't had a chip for awhile. I asked about the chip thats coming out for the TITAN and he mentioned its going to be a plug and play fixed unit. Still working on it he said but he showed me a dyno sheet they did yesterday...before the dyno broke.....and with no mods on a stock TITAN, they gained 38lbs ft of tq.....TO THE WHEELS. This is just the chip by the way...no intake...no exhaust. The stock TITAN dynoed at 246hp and around 300lbs ft of tq. After the prototype chip was put on, they dynoed close to 270whp and 340lb ft tq. Just from a simple chip! So there is high hopes that this might be a biggie for us N/A folk that can't afford the S/C. January is the ETA on the release date.
The best thing is that the tq band is even across the RPM range until it cuts out. This is something to wait for. Remember...the truck was stock....no intake...or exhaust...STOCK...so imagine the difference with just two simple mods and a chip.....Waaaa BaaaamMM!!
Yeah that stock dyno seemed a little low. And the after numbers are what a normal Titan with some mods lays down.
I'd like to see some track times on a modded Titan with the chip. Like RB did....that tells the story better then a dyno can dream of doing.

thier dyno number or way off or they have a severly limp biscuit titan in their most titans dyno for 265-270 stock..
This number looks a little too high for rear wheel ponies,at flywheel 305 horse while stock ,I would tend to go with Stillens numbers for rear wheel measurements
look at c l u b t i t a n. o r g too many people have dynoed stock on a dynojet dyno and had over 260+rwhp with absolutely no mods. mine dynoed at 303rwhp with banks, headers, aem, and tbs..which is about right considering all of them add about 40hp.. no way in hell a titan dynoe'd for 240hp i just dont think it's possible unless somehow they de-tuned it.. i wanna see the dyno sheet plus the titan has the most efficient drive train loss in the truck industry at 14%
i seen 4-5 titans in there stock that dynoed for 260-264rwhp, seen 3 dyno for 255-256 which weather conditions or diffrent tire sizes could amount for this change..

agree 265 is the norm. Here is mine, airhog drop in airfilter is the extent of my performance mods.

I know. I think I have something going on. I noticed that the end of my exhaust pipe has a black ring around it. Cipher shows the a/f to be in that 12.3 to 13 range. They are back calculating it from sensors so maybe both banks of sensors are bad. I at least have some proof to take to the dealer. I'm going to see the guys from uprev in a few hours so I'll ask them what they think it might be.
