Question for all our member exhaust experts.

I found a great deal on the Magnaflow catback. I can buy the dual catback (15849) for $30 more than the single catback (15848), so I'm kind of leaning that way for the moment since you get the extra piping, clamps, and tip for only $30 more. I'm currently running the Flowmaster 70 muffler. Does the Magnaflow catback produce more drone that the Flowmaster 70? Do you think the dual Magnaflow will produce more drone than the single Magnaflow? Is the Magnaflow catback twice as loud as the Flowmaster 70? Thanks in advance!

You should PM Loosenut; he recently installed the dual outlet system. Also, if go to the Magnaflow site, then you will find a couple of sound clips for the dual outlet system for the Titan.

Re: Question for all our member exhaust experts.

I decided to take baby steps with my earlier questions. Just for the hell of it, I'm ordering a Magnaflow 12256 5" x 8" x 18" body 2.5" in/out just to see how it sounds compared to my Flo-70. That is the same size Magnaflow that comes with their catback kit except it's 2.5" instead of 3" in/out. This Magnaflow is 4" shorter overall than the Flow-70, so I will have the shop put a 4" long sleeve in front of it just in case I want to put the 70 back on. I can get the shop to do it for about $30 and the muffler will cost $62 delivered. So for under $100, I will have a pretty good idea how the catback might sound and drone.

Re: Question for all our member exhaust experts.

No PM necessary.

Yes I installed the Magnaflow dual catback (15849). It's louder than stock. I have less resonance drone than stock at freeway speeds. However, the exhaust note is deeper and is slightly louder than stock inside the cab. It requires slightly more volume on the radio.

It sounds sweet! My wife, who drives the Titan daily, loves that people move out of the way more than the did before the Magnaflow.

Re: Question for all our member exhaust experts.

All I know at this point is that the single gives more HP than the dual. I'm getting the single (15848) that I won from Magnaflow put on tomorrow. I can give you a better analysis then. The dual does sound pretty cool though. As someone mentioned, there is a dual sound clip on the Magnaflow website.

That's a nice thing to win. Looking forward to your comments. I should have that 12256 sometime next week I hope. I just had the itch to try something different even though I still like my Flo 70, just looking for something a little louder with the same or less drone than my 70. If I can come close to that sound of the catback, using the same muffler they did, but 2.5" instead of 3", I will be one happy camper. Update, just received tracking number, delivery on 11-22.
