If you don't have a 2 deg advance or other tune flashed to your ECU, then no, resetting it isn't a bad idea. I'm not certain, but I believe it takes like 200-300 miles for the ECU to relearn and adjust to driving habits. Like I said in an earlier post, I noticed a difference in throttle response in my Maxima when I reset it for the first time at about 20k miles.
Yes! You definetely want to do this. It should really be the first thing for anyone wanting to Mod the Titan, cheap and effective, never has it been detremental to anyone.. It gets your feet wet without much cost. Even "some dealers" will do it. Dealers that understand it.
I'm as conservative a person as you will ever meet when it comes to doing something to a vehicle. I debated for months before buying a K&N drop in filter for my last ride, about 6 years ago. I am risk averse as the saying goes. Look at my sig below or previous post and I will tell you now, I feel completely safe in everything I've done. I absolutely cannot afford to hurt my daily driver.
Have you changed your mind now? Know where to get it done? Call when you've seen the results.
Where are you located if you don't mind me asking.

Sounds like you were very distrusting of it in this post, then you went on to say
"so then I might want to do this"
That sounds like an undecided person thinking about makeing a decision.
Enjoy the Advance.
Oh, which ECU reflash are you favoring? i hope to get mine around March. You know you can get the Advance as part of the ECU reflash. No extra cost.

That's why He's on this forum. All he's doing is asking for some help from Us fellow Titan Owners. He never "trashed" it!

exactly...and the quote you selected...i was asking if it will hurt my ecu if i disconnect the battery over night to reset...i just learned that it wont hurt my ecu, so i said, so then i might want to do this...get it....but im not gonna disarm my alarm in my neighborhood all night if im not gonna benefit on it.

A better way to reset your ECU is to do the ECU reset procedure. I however recommend not resetting your ECU, let any mods you put on learn itself. Resetting the ECU wipe out all other vital info it's been storing.

thats what i figured...it doesnt really matter i guess...after the CAI, headers, exhaust goes on..itll be about a week then nitrous goes in, then tuned and dynoed...so i rather just wait for all the goodies, and get a full tune on the ecu, rather than just reseting that bad boy
