I got to thinking, what if you were to locate a blower of some sort and pipe to a sealed intake wired to a switch so you could flip on the blower when you needed it for a boost. Curiosity is getting the best of me so I'm going to give it a try. I'll take some pics and let you know how it goes.
I've got to figure out a way to put a check valve of some sort on the fender opening so that it will open when the blower isn't on. Any ideas???

There is a company on ebay that sells an intake setup like you are talking. So I see you like that Stillen day picture. To bad you weren't standing next to me taking that picture.

Go ahead and try it... Just dont get mad when the Nissan Dealership laughs at you because the heat from the engine made the propeller reshapes a little, then throws the blower out of wack because its off balance and which in turns breaks off a weakened blade into your intake manifold.
Wether it work or not is not important, he had an idea and tried it. Guys with open minds like that is what make these sites great. Sometime it work sometime it don't but don't bash the guy till you know for sure.

I think I'd rather have a "leave" blower on my truck then some glasspacks underneith it....punk. Speaking of worthless mods. That DIY airbox mod doesn't do shi+. I tried it and let me tell you, a CAI is a thousand times better.
~Thanks baseballfanz
hey bro calm down I didnt mean to insult you!!! I was being serious I would like to see a titan with the leaveblower like the one in this video
check your sh!t before you talk sh!t. and regarding my glasspack I dont have any info to back this up but I bet im getting around the same hp you are w/your over price banks exhaust the only thing "monster" about the banks beside price is rice burner style coffee can muffler tip(steps down soap box) back to the thread if you check this thread this guy is trying to get better air into the engine like youVolant RAM Air Scoop Review but he is modding a volant intake. Im w/BBF any ideas good or bad are welcome in this forum I hope you understand I was not trying to make fun of you mod

Sorry bro, I thought you were talking shi+ along with everyone else. I didn't realize someone actually did that. And a 10% gain is huge. Mine is a little more inconspicuous but I don't get near that much air and no way would I hook it directly up to the intake.
no problem, maybe some one else would try it.
I was thinking inside the fender and hooking it to the filter like the k&n cone filter or aem w/ a power inverter 120v and a switch... i like The Toro Super Blower produces up to a 215 mph air force from sears .... laters bro goodluck on the search for more horsepower post any updates...
Has anyone ever calculated what airflow (CFM) these engines typically intake vs. rpm's? If you knew that then you could figure out what CFM you'd need to supply to get the appropriate boost. So what I need is some sort of device to provide that amount of compressed air and an intercooler to cool down the air (I'm thinking tied into the A/C somehow).
First you need to figure out what airflow is needed at WOT and size the intake/ram air piping accordingly. I’m guessing it’s going to be the size of the intake tube but it never hurts to check and go a little bigger.
Second, set up the ram air like (gr8titan) did to get some cold air with an in-line fan on the intake side before the airbox.
Then you would want to seal the airbox so that it can get pressurized. As far as sizing the fan you wouldn’t hardly have any pressure losses because it will act more like a booster fan. But according to what I hear a turbo produces about 150% of your typical pressure (atmospheric). I believe 6-8 psi. So size the fan to produce that airflow to create that pressure. Then wire to the battery with a 120v inverter if needed and a switch in the cab. Now the hard part, actually making it work. And the only fan I can think of that would produce that kind of airflow is a leaf blower....the irony.
I had the day off and wanted to avoid the crowds so I set up shop in the garage and had a go at it. I mounted the fan in the fender well and sealed around it in case of water/dirt. Ducted to the existing fender well opening and sealed around it with that stick-on insulation matting. It's wired to a switch in the cab so I don't have to have it on all the time. I took it for a spin and it's deffinately noticable. If anything it's providing 150 cfm of cold air to the intake. Next on the list will be to seal the box area so that I can pressurize it (ram air effect). I've got the ins. wrap which provides a good seal but I'm still thinking the hood isn't that close of a fit. Any ideas? Now I wish i would have got the volant.
