just got my estimate

air raid intake and trottle body spacer. JBA headers, magnaflow exhaust, and ECU remapping with timing adjustment....

again the guy who owns this shop has done all my cars and is pretty much a good friend of mine now...

$1850 total for everything. and he will try to get me a dyno run for $50 from his cousin who owns a rice shop...

im pretty damn stoked...mainly for the estimated 5-6mpg increase...estimated 60hp increase...

anyone know anything about NOS? a buddy of mine who works with me was telling me a little about it lastnight. kinda put me in the mood for a kit maybe 50-75 shot ...still dont understand the difference between a wet or dry kit, but ohwell..ill figure that all out after i do this package for $1900 and feel i still need a little more umph

Re: just got my estimate

Ask RBsTitan or Toomnymods about NOS, they're both running it.

Re: just got my estimate

5-6 mpg increase is pretty high expectaion, what do you get now on the highway? Great prices looks like. This is installed right? 50-60 hp likely. Are you doing JET or UpRev Flash. UpRev can give multiple settings, good for adding NOS later. Looks like you are deep in Mod Mood today. Congrats! Good luck, we'll all be watching...

well i can go with JET or Uprev type tuning. dont know which to do..if i went with JET i would be able to get everything done the same day. right now im gettin like 8-10mpg city driving, and thats not ledfootitis...i dont do much highway driving. i live close to school/work/gym/friends...so im really never on the highway. i wouldnt be doing the nitrious though the same day...expecting intake/tbs/exhaust/headers/chip...im doing the audio/visual at the sametime

Re: just got my estimate

i dunno no way your going to get 60hp from just that maybe 35ponies to be conservative, hp doesnt come cheap, ive spent like 4.5k already just for 30hp increase na and 120hp increase on the juice using a 90 shot.. speed is addictive though you will always want more and sadly once u hit the 13's u will hit a brick wall the truck is plenty powerful enough but cams are not strong enough to bring us any lower than a low 14 NA hopefully be 13.8's with cam swap next yr on just the motor then will prob yank my nitrous if im not in the high 12's just wont be worth the added stress on motor for 2 to 3 10ths faster than what the motor will do alone

I don't know a whole lot about Nitrous systems but I'm into import tuners and ricers a bit but I know
Dry only uses n2o
wet or "fogger" has an n20 as well as a fuel solenoid so a fuel and nitrous mix both come out of the nozzles so you don't get a lean condition going in your motor. and I'm assuming make more power

Dry systems are much cheaper and from what I've heard work well on carburated motors where you can just richen up the mix.

Re: just got my estimate

if you are close to the orlando area, hit me up, i do full installs using NX products. i mainly race 350zs and G35s but i am getting more into the 5.6 liter motor cause we are putting one into an all motor Infiniti G35 coupe.

i have a lot of experience with nitrous, make sure you use a wet shot, a dry shot only works on cars with fuel pressure regulators up front and you trick the fuel pressure reg into dumping more fuel into it, this is not a safe way of doing it. with a wet kit , you can tap into the fuel and adjust the jet sizing so you have the perfect AF ratio.

i have a dynojet here in orlando and opening my shop up on friday dec 1st. www.performancefactory.com for my info on contacting me.

thanks guys

Re: just got my estimate

If you are doing JBA headers why would you put magnaflow exhaust which only starts at the muffler when the JBA evol Starts at the back of the cats for less $ and is designed to work best with the headers? Also I would wait for Stillen to release their piggy back programmer next month. It gives 30 hp at the wheel and 40 lb of troque. I have the airaid intake and love it. As for the tb spacer, save your money, your engine is designed to straighted the air back out to reduce turbulance. It works on old carbs but not FI.
