K&N FIPK question

After reading some post here I pulled my throttle body spacer off to remove the screen behind it. I simply put everything back together. Then monday on my way home I was running about 80 on the highway and felt a little surge in the motor (this was a good surge) then noticed a rattle. Once off the highway I found the filter came off the tube. I didnt check that because I didnt take it apart. Any how should there be that much differnce without the filter. I keep it pretty clean so its not like it was clogged. Is there another filter I can use that will let more air in. I would think the one on it was pretty free flowing.

Re: K&N FIPK question

Are you talking about the air filter coming off? How did that fall off? Just not screwed on tight enough? I wouldn't ever run it without an air filter but if everything seems to be running ok I'm sure you're fine. Also, the filter is one of the most restrictive parts on your truck so it's not surprise that it would have more power with it off.

Re: K&N FIPK question

Apparently when I was moving the tube around it knocked the filter loose. The it just vibrated off. Only drove about 2 miles without it. Got it back on no problem. Just wondering now if there is another filter that will let more air in.

Re: K&N FIPK question

I see. I'll bet that was quite a difference with the filter off.

The setup you have is about as good as you can get. A lot of people say the injen is really nice but I don't know. I've only had the nismo on and it's loads better then stock but that's all I have to compare it to.
