I need some feedback...I'm still in the break in period, but getting the itch to start modding!!!!!! The dealer wants to set me up with a Banks Monster / Nismo intake and 3 degree timing advance....the dealership said all of the work would be warrantied....most of what I've read...you guys are only doing a 2 degree timing advance....what are my pros/cons.....this guy is telling me that my truck would absolutely fly....sounds all most to good to pass up. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
+2 is the limit of what will stick in the ECU. +5 is only temporary for test purposes. I saw a post where somebody may have mistakenly thought they could get +5 and quickly questioned it. His post was a bit ambiguous. Others were going to try it when they got back to work as they were Nissan Techs. This is where the rumor started.
Shailey confirmed what I already thought, +2 is the limit. UpRev Cipher shows similiar numbers, but only goes to +2 actual advance. Most Titans have a factory base advance of +15 BTDC, and get adjusted to an advance of +17 BTDC.
Although advanceing gives more power, it has a natural limit.
Dyno Test of the + 2 showed gains of 6-8 HP and 10 lb/ft of TQ Net Results.
Any +5 rumor is now declared dead.
