Volant / AEM hybrid ???????

I have a Volant intake with the V5 filter approx. dim = 4" opening X 7.5" element....will a AEM DRYFLOW filter fit ...the only 4" opening has a 9" element....by my calulations the 9" element should fit inside of the Volant box....is this a stupid idea, has anyone else thought about it...potentially could be the best of both worlds......Thanks. SIDE NOTE --- just ordered the Volant exhaust should see it by mid next week!!!!!!

Re: Volant / AEM hybrid ???????

I have this same setup and it fits just fine. You kinda have to angle the filter to fit through the top of the box but once in it will slide right into place. One tip I recieved from another member about install is to make sure to not tighten up the intake tube until you have the AEM filter in the box and connected, then tighten the tube down on both ends. I believe this setup is the best of both worlds as well.
Enjoy!
