Got my Magnaflow today

I just got my cat back 18" Magnaflow put on a couple of hours ago. I love it! I expected it to be louder than it is inside with the windows up. It is louder than stock, but much deeper. When I put the windows down it sounds so much louder than stock. It turned a lot of heads on the way home. I felt the power gain right away too. The deep rumble is awsome!
There is a funny story attached. On the way home, a Tundra came hauling a*s up behind me and sped past me, then cut in front of me. He continued pulling away and I never even reacted to him. A moment later a motorcycle cop flew past me and pulled the Tundra over! It made the grin on my face from the sound of my new exhaust even bigger.

What is the difference between the 22" and the 18" in sound? I am wanting to get one but I dont want it to be to much louder than the stock.

22" muffler is a good bit louder than stock from 1600 to 1800 rpms, other than that I think thats about as close to stock as your going to get.Not much louder but a lot deeper.

Re: Got my Magnaflow today

I think just about any exhaust will be louder than stock (but that's what we like!!!)
The SIDO Magnaflow 18" was definitely louder than stock and I was nervous at first (...great, is this always going to sound like this!)
After awhile you stop noticing it, the muffler breaks in so it sounds deeper.
Then the clouds disappear, the velvet ropes part, and all is gravy!

Re: Got my Magnaflow today

Yeah, if you are looking for something close to stock with a lot deeper tone, the 22" is great. I have heard the 22" and it sounds awsome IMO, but I was looking for something a little more more aggressive and definitely got it.

Re: Got my Magnaflow today

Magnaflow, good choice. I love that deep deep rumble. Now that's how a V8 should sound.

Great choice... I love my 18" Magnaflow! Everyone who rides in my truck says they really like it. It does get deeper... and it does turn heads...

Re: Got my Magnaflow today

I've been thinking about getting one. Can you notice an power difference and how is it at highway speeds as far as noise is concerned

I noticed a difference... and I only did the muffler swap. Even more so now that it is broken in. It just sounds so smooth and deep. Everyone who rides in it says it is really a clean sounding exhaust. Not raspy at all. There might have been more power if I went with a cat-back. I wanted to save the money for a lift though, and I have to say that I'm still happy with the decision. There is a drone at 73ish MPH (or 1900 RPM's) but I don't mind it. I don't think there are many out there (Zoomers/Volant maybe) that don't drone anyway! It sounds great at WOT, and sometimes I down-shift just to hear it rumble when I cruise. Worth it in my opinion! Hope that helps!

Re: Got my Magnaflow today

I have the SISO catback and love it. I was nervous at first because ive never heard magnaflow on these trucks, ive always personally used flowmaster. It sounds awesome though. The first day I got it I drove to my friends house, i told him that i just put on a magnaflow exhaust so his comment was "magnaflow? why magnaflow? they sound like sh*t!" So we went for a ride at which point he stated "damn, that sounds really good."
