I have spoken with aFe about the SES light issue I have read about here and other forums. aFe has explained why and what can be done to resolve the SES light issue.
The issue: The inner diameter of some of a batch of tubes were not made to specifications (smaller inner diameter). This causes the air to speed up past the MAS and trigger the SES light to go on.
Some vehicles are affected by this and some are not (as posted on this and other forums).
The remedy: aFe is replacing the bad batch of tubes which are triggering the SES light. The new tubes are made with the correct diameter. This keeps the air FLOW from moving to swiftly passed the MAS.
Anyone with this issue should contact the place of purchase and ask them about getting it replaced. The vendor should help you; since it will be no cost to them or you.
I spend alot of time interacting with aFe. I do this for this exact reason. When I sell a product; I like to make sure I will get the support from my vendor. I want to make sure I have answers for my customers.
They have replaced a handful of tubes and haven't heard any complaints from those which have been replaced.
