i just want to know what this does for the trucks. I want to know if you take the fan on there now and put the flexs a lite fan. and let me know were i can get it.
Are you talking about a Flex-a-lite mechanical or electrical? If you're talking about the mechanical, then that would be a bad idea. They are designed to run without a clutch and are noisy. (Kinda pointless for this application as well.)
It depends on what kind you get. If you go all out and get one with a temp sensor and all that it will automatically come on at a preset temp and shut off by itself. They are pretty nice. I had one on my 01 ram. It worked great! Install wasnt too bad either.
They usually come with a copper "pod" sensor you mash into the metal fins of the radiator. That tells the control box (roughly) the temp on the coolant. The box controls when the fan comes on and turns off. The fan itself mounts with long screws that you push through the radiator fins in the same manner as the "pod". But they have plastic/metal washers you put on the backside to keep them from being pulled through the radiator.

Go over to CT. There is a thread on the 295 install over there. You will also find out who has and has not had problems with the 295 kit. You may also want to check out my electric fan conversion kit thread for other ideas. Good luck with the project..
