Stillen Long Tube Headers Install Q's

So my Sister got her Stillen long tube headers intalled today and they look and sound great but I have a few Q's. The guy left the second set of cats on and left the 2 1/4 pipe running out the back that she had prior. I have read a few different threads here where people are saying go with 2 1/2" pipe out and they are removing both sets of cats and the resos. I wondering what the advantages are. Are the HP gains worht it? I'm having a set installed Mon so any comments help thanks!

Also, I currently have a Flomaster Dual out the sides and am thinking of changing out to a Banks Monster Exhaust. Has anyone heard both with the long tubes? Is that worth the $$?

Don't remove both sets of cats. The HP gains are negligible and you're asking for increased resonance and throwing a code...

I hope the ones you are getting are coated?

don't get the banks bro i just came from down that road, get the jba that kit is totally matched for stillens headers, everything should be 2.25" from the header flange to the y-pipe then a single 3" out the back, the 3 fastest titans on both forums run this same identical setup so i know it works.. i also had the banks and the loss of low end torque was horrendous cause of the 3" y-pipe the sizing of the pipe makes all the diffrence in the world

Re: Stillen Long Tube Headers Install Q's

Yes, my sister. Girls can have trucks too. We bought our truck together one day and since it has been a war to see who gets theirs the fastest. She actually express shipped her set of headers so she could beat me to install.
Mine are coated but she let the guy at the muffler shop convince her the coating was unecessary.
Whats the best exhaust if I am wanting to stay with my dual out the rear setup? Does JBA have a dual output available?

To get the most out of them headers, you'll need to get your ECU tuned.

Re: Stillen Long Tube Headers Install Q's

Banks Setup: headers, 3" y pipe, no cats, moroso reosnators and banks. Tail end of video is preheaders but same exhaust from headers back.

Re: Stillen Long Tube Headers Install Q's

Is there a reason most guys are running the Stillen headers over JBA headers even when they are running JBA exhaust? I just put on my JBA exhaust and wanna do headers and seems to me that the JBA combo would work best. Am I wrong?

Ease of installation. JBA require welding cats to them much like the stockers and to be quite honset the stock cats are not that great as I had mine passenger side blow out. Soon after I bought headers and new cats.

Oh FYI...stock y or mid-pipe is 2.25"

How about hp/tq gains between the two?

Also I just got another Nissan emblem under "Registered user" . How did I do that?

one of the reasons for the Stillen headers is that they are long tube headers vs. the short tubes on the JBA's. More gains with the long tubes. also I have heard the stillens are easier to install. Also the JBA's are CARB legal. the stillins are not

a couple of other options are the Nismo long tubes and the powerflo long tubes (which are bigger primary tubes but not bennificial due to our engines not producing over 500 hp).

Has anybody heard anything good or bad about the Nismo headers?
