I am starting to be in the market for a set of headers. I know that shortys aren't the way to go since the basic manifolds on our trucks are shorty headers not to mention the added torque there would be gained by long tubes. Mostly I am questioning whether or not there is proof which is better?? Nismo or Stillen? My buddy (who has the same truck as me but king cab) has the Stillen Long Tube. I enjoy competing with him on a regular basis and wanted to if possible "one up" him on the header front. any help is much appreciated
ps: I would like to retain my y pipe exhaust design rather than true duals

I guess you could 1 up him with the NISMO headers since they are equal length. Just between you and me, from what I've read, equal length in headers shorter than 40" does nada but he doesn't know that, lol. I have the NISMO headers off getting coated and you could get the Swain coating on the Stillen's if you want his headers, but better, lol. Don't piss him off too bad, you may need installation help, lol. As far as concrete proof, Stillen and JBA is a proven combination on the Dyno but I expect to get similar results with the NISMO and Zoomers combination. I will put up 1/4 mile post header times to compare with my pre header times when available. I prefer the 1/4 mile Dyno and it's cheaper for me to do. I won't Dyno mine till the October meet and then we will have a Dyno to Dyno comparison.

Lol, mine is bigger around AND longer, lol, that should get his goat. Just remember you may want to get them installed FIRST before bragging, lol.

1/4 mile dyno is great...for the most part.....really...everytime you run at the track..you need to get a DA reading....
This will help more in telling the gains. Find out your Density Altitude....
If DA was close during runs....then that's great...if it wasn't...adjust accordingly.

I already installed headers and have the fastest recorded NA truck slip to back it up...lol!
I'll pit my NISMO stickers against your best mod, people tremble at the sight of them and red light uncontrollably when racing me, lol.
