So, I think I just found the best deal on the planet for the timing advance.
Gary, the head of the service department at Patterson Nissan in Longview, Texas, said "We're very familiar with the process. It'll take about 30 minutes and run you $105.00"
I'll jump right on that.

HAHHAHAHA

3.5-4 minutes, and I thought $60 was steep.

That cracks me up, I want this his phone number. I have been charging 40.00 for the timing advance and I check and clear codes if need be, run AFR checks and fill the folks up with knowledge that will save them hundreds on other mods and I still felt guilty for charging 40.00, lol. I guess I would be a bad service manager, lol

Re: Can we make a sticky of who can give 2 degree timing advances??

asked a tech if he would give my titan the advance and he said he would cause it would "cause the cats to heat up" and eventually lead to them ending up in the engine. i was under the assumption that it was still within safe limits, but those techs must know best. I mean changing oil is right up there with getting nissan certified.

LMAO, Papa. I know, right? The guy strikes me as one of those "You intimidate me, I'm going to exert what little power I have over you, please don't screw my wife" types.
Quick question - will Uprev advance the timing for me when I implement it?

Re: Can we make a sticky of who can give 2 degree timing advances??

/rant

F*&$ Cheyenne Nissan!!! I take my truck in to get it advanced and they want to charge me $90. I asked why so much when I had the instructions to do it, and could do it in about 4 minutes. They said because they have to charge an hour labor since they would be hooking the truck up to a machine. I called every place in town that I knew and NO ONE has the Consult II. Now I have to drive down to Denver and find some shop to do it.

/Rant off

Re: Can we make a sticky of who can give 2 degree timing advances??

So I called the dealership yesterday to get my rear seatbelt recall finished up finally, I asked about the advance and it's going to be an extra twenty minutes and it's going to cost me about 25 bucks to get it done. Wish me luck!
