Unichip, plug and play computer

well guys, vortech is about to launch their release of the supercharger kit for the titan, they will be using unichip computer with it. i contacted unichip today and they are selling their computers for our trucks.

i am about to order a few of them for my shop here in orlando and throw one on my truck and tune it on the dyno.

this will now give us the option of fully controlling timing and fuel and tuning it to whatever mods we would like to tune it to.

really looking forward to another step in the right direction...

will post updates here soon, i have been involved in the Z and G35 community soo much i dont have time to mess with my truck much. soon though, if anyone in orlando needs anything installed or done or just want to dyno your truck, contact me...

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

Hopefully you're getting the "New" Flux system from them. A few members who got the first version all either returned it or took it off their Titan. The new one is suppose to be better but for a $1K I don't see too many flying of the shelfs.

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

hey guys, here is a link with all the videos in it, http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=235920

my car has close to 720 hp and weighs 2680, i should go 9.6 @145 tonight!! i just put a turbo 400 in it and that 10.4 run was my first run ever with it. i was babying it as you can see in the video

yes the unichip is the new one and i will be testing it out soon, it doesnt cost $1000 dollars though for me cause i have a shop so i get good pricing on stuff.

i will be getting it right after the beginning of the year and will throw it on and tune it. i havent had any issues with unichip and they are easy to tune, maybe the people that sent it back didnt have the right tuning software or wasnt familiar with unichip...

keep an eye out for vortechs new SC as well, it should be very nice!!

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

Ok i have a Unichip kit sitting in my garage for this weekend. I had some headers put on yesterday and boy i sure hope this tuner helps! Seems like after the headers my truck is absolutely starving for fuel now. I had my resonators removed with the header install, and actually i think its quieter. My service engine soon light came on after the header install as well. Anyone else had this happen?

Back to the Unichip........got it, can't wait to put it on and see if solves my "issues".

Yes the earlier Unichip basically come with a pre tune MAP and unless the shop had software to tune it to your Titan it was useless. With you having a shop and a way to tune it the new Unichip might yield something good. Anyway, good luck and please post results.

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

Didn't know about O2 simulator. Aren't my O2 sensors still there? I am running JBA titanium coated (short). But the guy called when he was installing and said it is a shame that i have the good cat back system and headers but i was bottlenecking it at the resonators. So we removed them. And truthfully......i just got back from picking up lunch and i came to dead stop and punched it to see in general what my 0-60 was. Close to ten seconds? I feel like i have ruined my truck!!!! Dang i hope my Unichip kit helps fix this problem.

I believed there ar 4 O2 sensors, two up stream and two right before the resonators, if you look at some of the guys who have removed the resos., they have to weld some "bung" there to re-install the O2 sensors (or run O2 simulator) Yes the Unichip (if it can be tuned) will help resolved your A/F ratio.

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

Oh and btw......on the Unichip kit I found something out after i bought it that was a nice bonus feature not mentioned. I opened the box and there was a switch in there????? It has TWO maps loaded on the unit from factory. One less aggressive the other more. Well it actually does the timing advance for you in the #2 mode. So not only is it totally tuneable at realtime, but it has two nice maps already loaded. And the are very mod specific on the website as far as their research and testing for the titans. They seem to have more part combinations than anyone else i have seen.

Re: Unichip, plug and play computer

well let's just see what the Unichip does. Be sure to post the results. I hope you have a tuner in your area to tune it. The Map switching you can do on the fly as well. I hope they added another 3feet of wire so you can mount it in a area that can be reached from the driver seat.

Audible did you take the tuning class needed to get the right software?
