will do...the hardest is finding someone close enough to do it. Will @ WRP was willing to work with me but he was sick I guess and I haven't heard back from him in a few weeks. i have an email in to him, still no response. I am not spending $100 in gas to get to another state to get this mod done. i will buy the software and do it myself, if you understand what I am saying.

I went to my dealer today and they did it for me. The only way you can do a +2 on a 08 is with the consult III.

I wanna be a beach bum! or at least act like it on weekends.
Theoretically - shouldn't the 2* advance give you better gas mileage - making fuel burn more efficiently, assuming you drive conservatively w/ out a lead foot?
I'm considering having it done but w/ gas prices through the roof every mpg counts. I know I drive a big V8 truck, and blah blah blah, but I want to keep my mpg as best as it can be and I also want the power when on tap.
My dealer has a different opinion.
Here is my response from the service department. Last names removed since the world is full of creepy stalkers. I was under the understanding that a timing advance is not outside of factory tolerances??? This is all the emails sent and received so it will all make sense.
Is there anything that can be done to eliminate the hestitation in
my 08 titan. Its like the throttle is on a delay. I had my timing advanced
from you in my 06 and it really helped with the throttle response and
actually increased my mileage by 40 miles a tank. I have another thousand
miles before my next oil change but I would like to have it done and have my
a/c checked out since it will stop blowing cold air. The blower works just
no cold air coming out.

Mr. ********,
Thank you for inquiring by email. I cannot recall ever advancing the timing
on a Titan. I did ask the shop foreman and service manager and they cannot
recall ever advancing the timing on a Titan. As far as services such as that
we would not perform any service that is beyond factory settings, especially
on a vehicle that is still under warranty (as it would void the warranty).
As for the a/c issue, we can check that and see what needs to be done to
correct the a/c.
Thank You,
Kevin *******

Mr. ********,
The timing was advanced on my 2006 titan at your service department and I believe it was a warranty repair. I was not charged and I did receive an invoice. Its been some time since I was in my 06 but I will do my best to locate that invoice and I would be more than happy to show it to you. If that is something that would void the factory warranty I'm sure that information would be very valuable to the new owner of that truck. I would think that a consult tool would have safety measures to prevent changing parameters that were not within factory tolerances. I'll try to find it tonite and if I come across it I'll make trip up to Urban Nissan and post a copy on the local titan websites so they can be made aware that the timing advance will void their factory warranty.
Sincerely,
Mike **********

Mr.*********,
I did locate the invoice in which we did advance your timing on your 06 Titan. Robby ********* had this done for you at your request and at no charge to you or Nissan (as it is not a warrantable procedure). We do not ever recommend changing factory settings. Any failure that can be contributed to a modification of factory settings is not warrantable. What was done to your 06 Titan should not have been performed, whether it was at your request or not. I suggest taking your vehicle to a performance shop to have any modifications performed. Again, understand that any failure that can be caused by a certain modification would not be warrantable.
Thank You,
Kevin *******

Coming in 2nd just means your the 1st loser
my dealer said it could be done, but would void the warranty, I wish the ecu were not so different in the 08, so I could get uprev and not worry about finding a dealer that is willing to do it!

I think what is going to be the issue here is whether or not you have a friendly dealership that is willing to help you out if you ask them. If they are slammed with service orders, they may shy away from doing this. If it is a dealership that is run with a laid back atmosphere your chances are you will get it done but if they are all up tight, good luck! I despise dealerships myself, either way as there is always a lack of communication and always, always attiude when you bring in a vehicle for service. (Service managers/personnel-Don't like your day job, QUIT!) Anyway,I am closer to getting this done I believe. Will post comments when it is complete. FYI- Did the airbox mod as well and no noticeable gain but in sound. I guess we will see.
